Grainger's vision for Newlands

The key principles include the creation of a welcoming and long-lasting place that responds to the natural qualities of the site, including the topography, trees, woodland, hedges, river and wildlife.

The focus will be on family homes and the development will be designed to be as ‘pedestrian friendly’ as possible, with good access to local facilities, jobs and the town centre and Purbrook centre to help bring more custom to these important areas. It will provide good access to new play spaces, community gardens and parkland, as well as the countryside beyond. New and existing nearby homes will have access to new facilities, bus services, and open space, including a new park located west of London Road. Above all Newlands will contribute to the local economy and be an important addition to Waterlooville.
